Bunny
by Mona Awad

"If I had to describe this book in one word, it would be "weird," so if that's the kind of horror you're into, this is the book for you! It's like if Mean Girls was a horror movie. I absolutely adored the wild ride this book took me on, from the general creepiness of a super clique-y, preppy group of girls who almost act as one person, to the deeper psychological horror as the main character, Samantha, get slowly sucked into their group. If you're an audiobook fan, this was also a phenomenal listen!" - Alyssa

Invited to join a popular clique at her university, a misfit artist with a dark imagination is drawn into ritualistic activities that transform her perspectives on reality. By the award-winning author of 13 Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl.

Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
Butcher & Blackbird
by Brynne Weaver

"This one's a more unconventional pick as we go into spooky month - it's a dark romantic comedy about serial killers falling in love, so it's more gory than scary, but a great pick if you want to get into the spirit of the season without being scared. This is book one in a trilogy, and all three of the books are phenomenal, so depending on how fast you read, you could have an entire month of serial killers and their love lives (who wouldn't want that?). The trigger warnings at the beginning of the books get increasingly more hilarious as the series go on, but also give you a good idea what you're in for, so I recommend reading them to know what you're getting into. These books are not for the faint of heart!!"
- Alyssa

But as their friendship develops into something more, the restless ghosts left in their wake are only a few steps behind, ready to claim more than just their newfound love.
