It's a Blizzard...of Books!
We were blown away by the number of patrons who added to our "thankful" chain during the month of November.  There is so much good out there and we are grateful that you shared it with us.  This month we will be asking our patrons to create a blizzard of books by writing the title of their favorite book of 2025 on one of our precut snowflakes.  Once they are displayed we hope you have a look and then perhaps pick up a new book, something recommended by another member of our community.  It's the kind of quiet share that will allow us all to connect, even during this busy time of year.  No recommendations?  You are invited to decorate a snowflake to help us make the space more festive. Thank you for sharing, thank you for caring and we wish you all the very best for a happy and healthy holiday season.

Would you like a book in Portuguese?
Our collection is growing!  At this time last year, we were proudly announcing our newest section in the Children's Room: Books in Portuguese.  Over the course of the year, we have continued to steadily grow our collection and now we can proudly announce that have some available in the YA room too! Swing on by and confira.os.livros.
CHILDRENS
Family Time
During the month of December, many of our weekly groups wind down and book clubs are put on hold.  However, we have several fun family events on the schedule for your enjoyment, including the always popular Snowflake Workshop and Eyes on Owls.  We have a few added drop in story hours and our Saturday Family Story Hour will continue as usual. Do you just need a place to relax for a bit?  We have board games, puzzles, toys and coloring sheets at the ready.  Hustle on in and take a break from the bustle. Check out our printable monthly calendar to find more information.
Snowflake Workshop
Wednesday, December 10, 3:30 PM
It is almost winter which means it is time for our annual Snowflake Workshop!  Children in Grade 1 and up are invited to come on in and learn how to make these beautiful and impressive looking snowflakes.  This might be our favorite snowstorm of the year!

TEENS
Need a Screen Break?
As the term winds down, many of you are looking for ways to be done with screens for a bit; computer screens, phone screens and even those fancy announcement screens they have at school.  We can help.  Aside from books, we have board games, audiobooks, coloring pages and puzzles. You can even borrow puzzles from the library to do at home.  If you are really looking to take a screen break or break some unhealthy screen habits, we even have books to help guide you.
How to Break Up with Your Phone, Revised Edition: The 30-Day Digital Detox Plan by Catherine Price
(This particular one is even available as an eBook on Libby if you aren't ready to give up the screen habit quite yet.)
Want to Help Others?
Want to be more involved?
Did you know our TAB group hosts an ongoing food drive for the food pantry?  If you are looking for a good way to make a difference during the holidays, drop some donations in the basket next time you come to the library.  Want to explore more ways to make a difference within the community?  Come to a TAB meeting!  Have thoughts on teen programming you would like to see in our library?  Let us know.  We are always happy to listen to new ideas.
