Travel back to the Tudor court as we explore the lives of Henry VIII, his six wives, and other Tudor characters.  This month, Henry VIII and Katherine of Aragon go to divorce court in “The King’s Great Matter.”

Memorial Day/Decoration Day Historic Ceremony Program

Join us as we honor black union soldiers from the south who fought during the Civil War. Some of these soldiers are buried in Evergreen Cemetary located behind Baxter-Patrick James Island Library. This program is presented by Former Councilwoman Anna Johnson.

Learn how to set up and use our embroidery machine! This training is needed to utilize the embroidery machine in our Creative Studio. No registration is required for this event. 
 
Envelope Style Pillowcases

Come learn an easy way to whip-up pillowcases on our sewing machines in the Creative Studio. 
 
Sewing Machine Training

Come learn the basics of how to use our sewing machines. This training is needed to utilize the sewing machines and serger in our Creative Studio. No registration is required for this event.

Let’s learn how to use Cricut Design Space and set up the machine to cut, draw, or score! This training is needed to utilize the Cricut and Heat Press in our Creative Studio. No registration is required for this event.

Hands on assistance with tablets, smartphones, and laptops accessing the library’s digital collection and troubleshooting pesky issues. No registration is required for this event. 
Exploring CCPL’s Digital Resources 
Thursday, May 22 from 10-11 a.m. 
Join us as we explore the library’s digital content and streaming services that are offered with your library card. We will demo getting set up with Libby, Hoopla, Flipster, Kanopy, Freegal, and continue on with some of our online databases such as Consumer Reports and LinkedIn Learning. Registration is required.

Summer Reading 2025

Take a trip around the world this summer at your local Charleston County Public Library during our 2025 Summer Reading Program! In partnership with Charleston County School District (CCSD), the program promotes reading and offers incentives throughout the summer, along with featured events for all ages. Community Pop Up!
Drop by with new, travel sized hygiene products, like deodorant, tampons, hair products, etc. and we will deliver them in September to help victims of domestic violence at My Sister's House.
