Library Commits to Georgia Safety Promise
|
Forsyth County Public Library announced Monday that it will join other organizations across the state in the Georgia Safety Promise, a public-private partnership program led by the Office of the Governor along with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia Department of Public Health, and other organizations. Patrons who do not have a mask may request a free, disposable mask at the main entrance of each library branch. "Many of our patrons expressed concern that masks were encouraged, but not required, to visit the library. We want our patrons to know that we're listening and that we're taking additional steps to protect our community," says Lyle. FCPL is also making a temporary change to its food and drink policy. Beginning Thursday, September 3, visitors may not consume food or drinks inside the library. "We're making a change to the food and drink policy because it would be impractical to eat or drink with a mask on. It's important that patrons keep their masks on for the duration of their visit," adds Lyle. As part of its commitment to Georgia Safety Promise, FCPL will continue a number of safety measures already in place... Read more
