Slow Stitching with Kimm Thu, Mar 26th, 5:30pm Durham 'Slow stitching' is hand-sewing and creating as you go, so this project will unfold, starting as a Victorian crazy quilting block, which may include applique, embellishments and embroidery. We meet once a month; start any time. Try something new! Beginners welcome. We'll provide basic materials, but feel free to bring fabric scraps and favourite scissors, etc.

Canada Reads Canada Reads is an annual "battle of the books" competition organized and broadcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Each of the finalist books is championed by a prominent Canadian. Canada Reads premiered in 2002. The first winning book was In the Skin of a Lion by Michael Ondaatje, defended by musician Steven Page. This year's Canada Reads Nominees: 1. Searching For Terry Punchout by Tyler Hellard 2. It's A Different Time by Joss Richard 3. A Minor Chorus by Billy-Ray Belcourt 4. A Cure For Drowning by Loghan Paylor 5. Foe By Iain Reid Canada Reads will air April 13-16 on CBC-TV, CBC Radio and CBC Books.
