Storybook Pumpkin Painting Contest Begins
Wednesday, October 1st
Decorate your own 11" flat wooden pumpkin with your favorite storybook character!  Register to pick up your kit including paint, a paint brush, and a wooden pumpkin at the Greenwood Public Library on Wednesday, October 1st, and return your completed pumpkin by Wednesday, October 8th to enter into our pumpkin display and contest.  Any supplies you wish to use can be added to the pumpkins. Entries will be placed in the following age groups: 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, 13-15, 16-18. A prize will be awarded to a winner in each age group!  Pumpkins will be displayed in the library until Wednesday, October 22nd when they can be picked up to take home.  Children and teens ages 4-18 can be registered for this event to reserve their kit. For further questions, please call the library at (302) 855-1242. Teen Advisory Board
Wednesday, October 1st at 4pm
The monthly meeting of the Greenwood Public Library's Teen Advisory Board is on Wednesday October 1st at 4pm. Teens can come together at the Greenwood Public Library to collaborate, brainstorm, and share ideas while receiving the library’s support to bring your visions to life. Here, you have the opportunity to express your thoughts, plan innovative programs and displays, decide which materials should be available for teens, and connect with new friends.
This program is designed to empower teens to contribute to the cultural and recreational environment of Greenwood, encourage civic involvement and to provide a sense of community among regular library users as well as newcomers.

Bluey Books, Balloons & More!

Join us with your little ones at the Greenwood Public Library on Thursday October 2nd at 10:30am  for Bluey Books, Balloons, Songs, Games, and Coloring! This special story time will be with Ms. Chelsea.

Crochet Together!
Thursdays at 1pm
A group will be meeting weekly on Thursdays at the Greenwood Public Library to crochet. Anyone is welcome to bring their own supplies and crochet together! This is event is informal and not run by a staff member however there will experienced crocheters present who are willing to share tips and tricks with you! Come make a new a new friend! 
Read to the Dogs
1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at 4pm
L.E.A.P. (Literacy Education Assistance Pups) Program – Read to the Dogs - is free and open to children of all ages. Come in to practice your reading and have a tail-waggin’ good time! L.E.A.P. sessions will be held at the Greenwood Library on the first and third Thursdays of the month. No registration is required; just come to the Greenwood Library any time between 4:00 and 5:00 p.m., choose a 4-legged, tail-wagging reading partner, and enjoy a good book together. Bookworm Buddies
Monday, October 6th at 4pm
Get together to read, talk about books, and do fun activities that go along with the books at Bookworm Buddies on Monday, October 6th from 4:00-5:00pm. Our monthly Bookworm Buddies is growing and so we are going to split up different ages into groups. Please register participating children.
Butterflies (ages 6-8) will be diving into Detective Duck: The Case of the Strange Splash by Henry Winkler and Lin Oliver, followed by related activities.  Kids are encouraged to read (or listen to) the book before the program.  Copies of the book will be available at the Greenwood Public Library from early September and copies are also available for instant download on the Hoopla app.
Caterpillars (ages 3-5) will have their own story time and craft followed by play time.
Little Wrigglers (ages 0-2) will have their own play area with their parents or caregivers.

SpookyTrivia Night!!!

Join us on Tuesday, October 7 @ 5:30pm for an entertaining  Spooky Trivia Night at the Greenwood Public Library. Claire Cassidy from the Milton Public Library will put your spooky knowledge to the test. Four rounds of  questions will include movies, books, celebrities, Shakespeare and general Halloween questions. Teams can be individual or group ages 18 and up only. Dive Into STEM

Feelings Rock

Feelings Rock is a music and movement-based class that is designed to help children ages NB-5 and their families navigate social emotional development.  Get ready to learn how to recognize, express and cope with emotions, engage in fun learning activities and promote a healthy body with movement!  We like to have fun with the use of sign language, rhythm sticks, shaker eggs, puppets, stories, instruments and so much more!
