We will review some of the more common symbols and tropes seen in Western painting. Join us in unpacking these paintings, improving our visual literacy, and increasing our appreciation of art!

Sliding Knot Charm Necklace Mondays, July 10 or 24 at 5:30 PM at DeMott Lane Easy and fun charm necklace created with wire wrapped beads and charms. Learn to make double sliding knots to finish with adjustable length leather cord. Led by Josephine. Both dates are the same class; please only register for one to allow more space for others. Bead Weaving 101: Square Stitch Bracelet or Anklet Saturday, July 22 at 1pm at DeMott Lane Bead weaving is a jewelry making technique using small seed beads, a needle, and thread. When the beads are woven together in a pattern, they create beautiful jewelry! You may want to bring reading glasses with you. Each participant will learn the square stitch to make a bracelet or anklet. Led by Taylor. Registration opens Monday, July 3rd at 10:15 AM.

Walking the Old Boonton Line Saturday, June 24 at 1pm at DeMott Lane Using his photos, drone footage, & lively narration, Wheeler Antabanez will retrace his journey on the abandoned Erie Railroad tracks through eight northern New Jersey towns before they were torn up for the future Essex/Hudson Greenway. Wheeler is the author of several books (available for sale at the program) and a correspondent for Weird NJ.
