Monthly Kits for Kids & Teens
 
 
Story Time Kit
Each month, Miss Monica prepares a Storytime Kit to go along with that month’s story time themes. Each kit contains: one coloring page for each week, with songs and rhymes to go with the weekly theme; a sticker, and a monthly craft.  To pick up a kit, stop by the library or set up a Curbside Pickup appointment by calling us at 315-454-4524.  Recommended for ages 2-6.

Take-Home Craft Kits
Monthly craft kit for kids & teens that require minimal if any supplies from home.   Recommended for ages 6 and up. To pick up a kit, stop by the library or set up a Curbside Pickup appointment by calling us at 315-454-4524. April’s Craft is: Boo-Boo Bunny.

Family Art Show: Peep Diorama
April 6 - May 30
Families are invited to create a diorama on a theme of your choosing, using Peeps! Kits will be
available starting Monday, April 6, containing a box, Peeps and miscellaneous decorating
supplies. Families are encouraged to create a scene together using the box and materials, along
with any supplies from home. Bring the diorama back to the library with a title and description
of the scene and it will be displayed in the Children’s Area during the rest of April and the month
of May. To pick up a kit, stop by the library or set up a Curbside Pickup appointment by calling
us at 315-454-4524.

The Salina Library Presents: Blast Off to Kindergarten!
Looking for a fun, simple, and inexpensive way to bond with your young child and get him/her ready for school? Let's READ!
When you first sign up for Blast Off to Kindergarten, you receive a bag with information on how to help your child prepare for Kindergarten as well as a folder with your first reading sheet. Whenever you read a book to your child, color in one of the pictures on the sheet. When it's all filled in, bring it to the circulation desk to receive your next sheet and a sticker. Completing certain sheets means earning an extra prize! Each child who completes the program will receive a free book and certificate!

Early Learners Story Time
Tuesdays at 10:30 AM – April 7, 14, 21, & 28
Make learning fun! Your child will learn important early literacy and social skills with stories, rhymes, and songs, in a setting appropriate to their needs.  No registration required.  For children ages 2-4 years old, with accompanying adult. 
 
Feel free to pick up a monthly Storytime at Home Kit for coloring pages, a craft, sticker, as well as songs and rhymes to join along with Miss Monica -- or create your own story time -- from home!

Wednesdays at 10:30 am - April 1, 8, 15, 22, & 29
What do you do with a wiggly toddler? Bring them to the library on Wednesday mornings for songs, stories, and activities to explore! No registration required. For Toddlers ages 1-3 years old, with accompanying adult.

Wednesday, April 1 from 4:00-5:00 pm
Create art like the masters! We will read Mary Blair’s Unique Flair, by Amy Novesky, and create colorful designs like Disney legend, Mary Blair! For children in grades K-5. Please register in advance for event reminder.

Pajama Story Time & Stuffy Sleepover
Thursday, April 2 at 6:00 pm
Children ages 3-7, wear your comfiest pajamas for a special night time storytime and craft!
Bring a special stuffy (who you won’t miss overnight) and pick them up Friday to learn all about
the fun and mischief they were up to while sleeping at the library overnight! Please register in
advance for event reminder.

Thursday, April 23 from 6:00-7:30 pm
Are you a teen in grades 6-12 who wants to read without a bunch of chatter or assigned reading? This may be the group for you! Each week, bring your own book (or pick one from the library!) to read or listen to (audiobooks count, just have your headphones ready!) silently for at least an hour while enjoying snacks and the nearby (quiet) vibes of other readers!
