Tech Help by Appointment
Tuesdays and Fridays at 10:30 AM, 1:00 PM, and 2:00 PM and Wednesdays at 2:00 PM and 6:30 PM
Do you need help getting around your laptop or tablet? Would you like to set up an email account? Do you want to download an eBook? Need help searching for and applying for jobs? Tech help appointments are now available. Appointments last up to 1 hour. Registration is required. 
 
Salina Detective Bureau
Begins Friday, January 2
Get out of your house and participate in solving crimes! Pick up a packet at the desk for this 8-week winter program for adults 18+ beginning on January 2nd. Solve mysteries in the packet and turn them in for raffle tickets. Come to any of 6 special mystery events and get raffle tickets for those, too! The raffle winner will get 2 tickets to the Hollywood Theatre.
 
Art Exhibit & Sale
Throughout the Month of January
View the art of Janet Myrto Richards throughout the month of January. Ms. Richards creates her art with layers of different pens, pencils, and paints. If you’re interested in learning more about her techniques, just ask! She’s an employee of Salina Library. A portion of each sale will be donated to the library.
 
Trivia Night
Friday, January 9 from 6:00-8:30 pm
It’s trivia night and your team might win a prize! Teams can be up to 4 people, and if you don’t have a team you can join one. Please bring something for the potluck table; we’ll provide the mocktails. You could even win a door prize! For adults 18+. Registration is required. The library is closed from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm then will be open to adults from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm.

Play “There’s Been a Murder”, a collaborative card game of death and deduction! For adults 18+. Registration is required.
 
Let's Eat
Tuesday, January 6 at 6:00 pm
Share in the joy of cooking and baking! We'll proved the cheese fondue, participants bring in things to dunk and then discuss recipes and flavors. For adults 18+. Please register.
 
Community Bingo
Monday, January 12 at 12:00 pm
Socialize and have fun playing bingo! Bring a new item under $5 for the prize table; it can be anything from a decorative item to a practical one. Use your imagination! For adults 18+. Please register.
 
Learn to Embroider: Snowflake
Monday, January 12 at 6:00 pm
Learn to embroider throughout the year, adding stitches with each class. At the end of the year you’ll have completed 12 different felt ornaments and learned many stitches! This month you’ll make a snowflake. All supplies are provided. For adults 18+. Registration is required.

Wednesday, January 14 at 6:30 pm
Hone your writing skills. Facilitated by Debbie Stack, local author, editor, and TV scriptwriter. Get feedback and share questions and ideas. For adults 18+. Please register.

Solve a murder with the Cold Case “A Pinch of Murder”. Utilize deductive reasoning, critical thinking, and logic skills by searching for clues among the evidence. For adults 18+. Registration is required.
 
Dance Party
Friday, January 30 at 11:00 am
Dance for an hour with your friends, or sit and enjoy the music and the company! For adults 18+ with disabilities, along with a mentor or family member. Please register everyone in your group, including mentors and family members.

Enjoy the conversation as you create! Bring your own coloring supplies or use ours, bring your knit or crochet project, or work on our puzzle that can be rolled up and worked on again the next week. Don’t like to craft? Just hang out and make friends. For adults 50+. Please register.

Join LiteracyCNY at Salina Library to practice your English speaking skills in a safe, welcoming environment. Have fun and make friends along the way! For adults 18+. Registration is required.
 
Neurodiversity Meetup
Wednesday, January 21 at 6:30 pm
Neurodivergent adults can meet new people in our quiet room with low lighting; there are even bean bag chairs for comfy lounging.
