Our Friends Support Our Library
DECEMBER 2025 |  FRIENDS NEWSLETTER

Here's to another great year!

We have had a wonderful close to 2025! The Belk Charity Day Sales brought a good sum to the building fund. The proceeds from the Scholastic Book Fair allowed the library to purchase several new books for the children's and teen departments. Senator April Weaver made a huge contribution via two education grants. There were also several donations made on Giving Tuesday as well.

We had the groundbreaking ceremony for the new library on August 22! You can see the steel frame and outer walls going up on the site now. We are well along our way for an early 2027 opening!

Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Christmas Breakfast for the library staff. It was a spectacular spread and the staff really enjoyed their time and goodies. They send their appreciation.

In addition to fundraising, the Friends have applied for three grants to help supply needed technology in the new library. We will seek other grants later in the year for opening day collections for the children's and teen departments.
