Mar10 Party Marks National Mario Day
 
Youth, ages 7 to 15, are invited to Rodman Public Library’s Mar10 Party, a celebration of National Mario Day at 4 p.m. on March 10.
 
During the event, kids will play a life-sized version of Mario Party, moving around a giant game board as they play minigames, winning stars and coins along the way.
 
The event is free, thanks to support from Friends of Rodman Library, but space is limited and registration is required.

World Book Timelines

World Book Timelines is an interactive, web-based database featuring over 650 pre-generated, customizable timelines covering history, arts, science, and notable people. It enables users, particularly students in grades 3-12, to visualize, create, edit, and share chronological events, with more than 14,000 built-in events, images, and videos. Optimized for use on tablets, this resource is designed to help users understand the cause-and-effect relationships between historical events.
MONTHLY PROGRAMS
Kids Crafting
 
Rodman Public Library’s monthly Kids Crafting program continues at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 12 when children, ages 7-12, are invited to come to the Main Library to create a St. Patrick's Day leprechaun gnome. Thanks to the Friends of Rodman Public Library, all materials and supplies are provided free of charge during Kids Crafting programs, which are held
on the second Thursday of each month.
Registration is required.
 
 
Lego Lab
 
The RPL Lego Lab is in session at 4:15 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of each month, when children, ages 6-12, are invited to the Main Library get creative. The theme will be “neighborhood” for the March 24 session and participants will create their own neighborhood scene using Legos provided by the library. Registration is required.

Pizza and Pages

Get ready to discover your next favorite story at our special book talk for children, ages 8 to 12. Pizza and Pages, which debuted in January, will be return Tuesday, March 17 at 4 p.m. We'll reveal a batch of brand new books guaranteed to excite your imagination and take you on unforgettable adventures. All while enjoying a slice of pizza and other activities. Registration is required.

FUN FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY
Tabletop Gaming
 
 
Tabletop Gaming, a popular all-ages program continues at the Main Library at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3.
 
Each month, a new game is featured so that patrons can learn a new game. Of course, games from the library’s collection are also available and visitors are welcome to bring their own games.
 
The free monthly event is held on the first Tuesday of each month.
 
The aim of the family program is to give area residents an opportunity to gather with others to play their favorite card and board games and make new friends.
 
Light snacks will be offered and no registration is required to attend the monthly program.
 
Although the program is open to players of all ages, children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
 
Rodman Chess Club
 
The popular Rodman Chess Club will meet at Rodman Public Library on March 18 from 5:30 to 7:30  p.m. in the Main Auditorium. Although it is called a club, the program has no formal membership and is open to all interested in the ancient game of strategy. Players of all ages and levels are welcome to come and go throughout the evening. Several boards are set up in the auditorium and players mingle to find opponents. Chess Club is held on the third Wednesday of each month.
 
GET CRAFTY AT THE BRANCH
Take and Make
 
Starting  Monday, March 2, kids can stop by the Branch to pick up a St. Patrick's Day magnet take and make craft (while supplies last). A new monthly project is available on the first open day of each month and are provided free of charge thanks to the Friends of Rodman Library.
 
Hot Pots Storytime
 
Hot Pots Storytime will have a St. Patrick's Day theme in March. Children, ages 2-12, are invited to come to the RPL Branch for a mini storytime and then proceed to Hot Pots, accompanied by their guardian,
to paint a Paddy the Leprechaun figurine.
Two sessions will be held, including Wednesday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m. and another on Saturday, March 7 at 11 a.m.
The cost is $16.99 per child and registration is required. The fee for the event is payable to Hot Pots upon registration at hotpotspottery.com.
