Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
Saturn Run by John Sandford
Project Hail Mary
by Andy Weir

Ryland Grace is the sole survivor on a last-chance mission -- and if he fails, the earth itself will perish. Except right now, he doesn't know that. He can't even remember his own name. Hurtling through space on a tiny ship, it's up to Ryland to puzzle out an impossible scientific mystery. And with the clock ticking down he's got to do it all alone. Or does he?
Hidden Figures
by Margot Lee Shetterly

Originally relegated to teaching math in segregated public schools, a group of African American women were called into service during World War II. Even while segregated, these women of Langley's all-black "West Computing" group helped America launch rockets and astronauts into space, as well as achieve victory over the Soviet Union in the Cold War. (Based on a true story.)
Saturn Run
by John Sandford & Ctein

The year is 2066. A Caltech intern inadvertently notices an anomaly from a space telescope -- something is approaching Saturn and decelerating. Space objects don't decelerate. Spaceships do. Whatever built that ship is at least one hundred years ahead and whoever can get their hands on it exclusively and bring it back will have an advantage so large, no other nation can compete.

Purrrrrfect Pairs
Meet Brutus!

Brutus first appeared on the doorstep of one of our Comfie Cat Shelter volunteers, hungry, unsure, and very wary of people. For months, he would only approach from a distance, spending cold days curled up on their partially covered deck, grateful for food and water but still too nervous to be touched. Thanks to the dedicated, compassionate work of our volunteers, Brutus has made incredible improvements. After months of gentle, consistent effort, he allows pets, and he is so close to rolling over for tummy rubs! His progress has been heartwarming to watch. Brutus is still a shy boy at heart and would thrive best in a quiet, patient home where he can continue to build trust at his own pace with people who understand his sensitive nature.

Find out more about Brutus and the other cats available for adoption on the Comfie Cat Shelter website!

Brutus selects the book One Brother Shy by local Toronto author, Terry Fallis.

One Brother Shy by Terry Fallis
 One Brother Shy
by Terry Fallis

Few people know the real Alex MacAskill. Most of the world sees a painfully and chronically shy software engineer in his mid-20s. But when his mother passes, he has no choice but to face the very memory he's been avoiding and finds himself trying to piece together the mystery of his identity, on a search that takes him from Ottawa to Moscow
