Teens Drawing in Arts & Crafts Event
Keene Middle School Art Installation
Reception on Thursday, March 5 @ 5:30pm
 
Keene Middle School students will be showcasing artwork at the library starting on March 5th. The installation will feature a number of student artists and run through March 26th in our Winter Street lobby and the Putnam Atrium. To kick things off and celebrate the young artists, we will being hosting a reception with light refreshments on March 5th for all to enjoy and mingle.

Coming Soon: Museum Pass-port Program!

Starting soon the library will be offering a museum pass-port to enrich your experience using our museum passes. Each household can pick up a passport that lists all of our current museum passes at the circulation desk. The next time you check out one of our passes, you can present your passport to get a stamp for that museum. Visiting 5, 10, and 15 museums will earn you prizes, and those who complete the passport by October 10, 2027 will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate! We also hope that you will share the fun by tagging us in pictures of your visit or by using #keenepubliclibrary on socials. Questions? Give us a call or ask at the circulation desk. 
KPL Co-Presenting at The Colonial Theatre
Raffle Drawing on March 4th for 2 Tickets

The library is excited to co-present The Emerald Isle with The Colonial Theatre to celebrate Irish Heritage Month. Emerald Isle is "an extraordinary Irish music, song, and dance show, celebrating the 32 counties of Ireland" which will "whisk you away to its picturesque shores and features world-class dancers, musicians, and singers." The show is scheduled for March 20th at the Colonial Theatre. We will be raffling off 2 tickets to the show on March 4th in Ruth Huntress Auditorium, following a screening of Jig, a documentary on the Irish Dancing World Championships. While you do not need to be present to win, Jig is a wonderful documentary that offers insight into the skill and hard work that goes into performances like Emerald Isle. Submissions are open until 5pm on March 4th, one entry per day, at our circulation desk.

People in general are unfamiliar with Greenland, the land, its people, history, culture and its relationship with Denmark and the rest of the world. This presentation is intended in large part to acquaint the audience with all these aspects of the island country of Greenland. This PowerPoint and discussion will illustrate challenges facing Greenlanders today, and their vision of their future.

Tech Talk - Web Searching

Keene Public Librarians will lead a monthly discussion and hands on training aimed at improving tech skills and savvy. The first 20 minutes will be a presentation by a librarian followed by time for practice and questions. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own devices. Limited tech tools are available for the workshop. This month we will be discussing Web Searching, specifically understanding how to get what you want and understand the results that you get. This will include examples using Gmail, Amazon, YouTube, Google and of course the library catalog.

Learn the art of junk journaling! Similar to scrap booking, but with less pressure to memorialize important items, a junk journal lets you collect and scrap book random items you find throughout the day! For kids 5 - 12 and their caregivers (please register all individuals to ensure we have plenty of materials!)
Journals, adhesive and plenty of scrap booking materials will be provided, but feel free to bring anything you'd like to start adding to your junk journal, such as receipts or ticket stubs, wrapper from a favorite treat, or anything that sparks joy! Registration is required.
