Langdon Community Library Announces Annual Used Book Sale – A New and Improved Experience
Langdon, March 6, 2025 – The Langdon Community Library is excited to announce the return of its Annual Used Book Sale on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. This year, we are making exciting changes by moving the event away from its usual alignment with the Parade of Garage Sales to create a bigger, better experience for our community.
Date: Saturday, April 26, 2025 Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM Location: Langdon Community Library, 344 Centre Street Langdon (in the Qualico Resource Centre in Langdon Park)
The sale will feature thousands of gently used books across all genres – including fiction, non-fiction, children’s books, cookbooks, and more! Whether you’re a lifelong book lover or just in the mood to find something new, there will be something for everyone. By holding the sale earlier in the year, we will also be able to offer the books for sale during our regular library hours the following week, giving even more opportunity to shop for great deals.
“We are thrilled to move the sale to its own dedicated weekend,” said Cori Nicholls, President of Langdon Library Society. “Not only does this new timing help us expand the event, but it also allows the sale to continue over an extended period, providing more time to shop and support our library during operating hours the following week.”
We are currently accepting donations of gently used books for this year’s sale.
Donations will be accepted at the library during our regular open hours:
Monday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Wednesday/Thursday: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Donations will also be accepted at Connect First Credit Union during their business hours Monday - Friday 9:30am to 5pm.
Please do not leave books on the library deck or outside of Connect First, as unpredictable spring weather could cause damage to the books. Also, please do not placed donations in our outdoor book drop as this is only for borrowed library items. We ask that any donated books be in good repair. We will also accept Audiobooks and DVDs.
We will not be accepting donations of the following:
Dictionaries
Encyclopedias
Reader’s Digest
Harlequin, Avon or Signet romances
Magazines (including National Geographic)
Textbooks
AMA travel guides
The last day for donations will be April 24th.

Public Sale: Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Payment Methods: Cash, Debit, and Credit
Proceeds: All funds raised will directly support the Langdon Community Library’s efforts to enhance our collection. The 2024 sale helped us purchase a Manga collection to better serve our teen patrons. The plan for 2025 is to use the funds generated to purchase borrowable electronic devices (eg: Kobo ereaders) and enhance our non-fiction selection by adding juvenile books on Art and Science topics.
We’re also seeking volunteers to help with setup, the sale day, and takedown. Volunteers will receive the perk of early shopping privileges!
