Reading should be fun. Books should be celebrated. So let's celebrate! We are thrilled with the lineup for the 2026 MOBookFest, Where Stories Come to Life. We have author talks & performances & fun for ALL AGES. Here are some highlights:
In the main tent in the library parking lot, we have cooking demonstrations from local and regional chefs.
At noon, Our Keynote speaker, award-wining author Kate Klise, will speak about "Anyone Can Write A Book."
Neighborhood Reads bookstore will have storytimes in their grassy backyard on the hour, starting at 10:00 a.m.
We have an educational petting zoo from 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Learn about Native American Storytelling, ask questions of an enslaved person, and listen to an interview with Susan B. Anthony.
Local legend Babaloo (I think someone needs to write "The Ballad of Babaloo") will bring his brand of children's storytelling insanity starting at 1:00 p.m.
And we have so many authors sharing their books in author talks, as well as the authors in the Vendor Booths outside. Come on out for five hours of fun!
