Free Comics, Family Tea, and Foam Party! Free Comic Book Day is Saturday, May 3! Free comics will be available to pick up at the library. Comics will be available that day while supplies last! Register today for our Family Tea Party on Saturday, May 10, with timeslots at 1 pm and 2 pm! We look forward to a royal afternoon with families with crafts, activities and a performances by the EHS Drama Club. We are kicking off our Summer Reading program Saturday, May 31, from 1 pm to 3 pm with a Foam Gone Bananas Foam Party. Attendees will get a $1 voucher for the Snowy Sweets Ice Cream truck. Ask about Summer Reading and cool off with Foam! This Year's Summer Reading theme is Level Up at Your Library! We are excited to bring you a summer packed with events and activities! You'll find information about our big summer events at the end of this newsletter, and a separate email will go out in mid May with all our events as well as prize and registration information! Baby Lapsit Planned for ages birth to 2 Thursdays Biweekly at 10 am May 8 & 22 Build your baby’s literacy foundation with skills, stories, and songs in a 15-20-minute session. Playtime follows to help with social skill development.

Imagination Station Planned for ages 3-5 Tuesdays Biweekly at 10 am May 13 Join us for a morning of activity, imagining, creating, and fun! The first Tuesday of the month is activity based. The last Tuesday of the month is a Dance Party with instruments and parachute play. Drop In

Mama Bears Support Group Thursdays Once a Month at 10 am May 15 Come share your feelings and concerns with other moms in an accepting environment. We’ll have toys available for children to play with, and a library staff member will facilitate the discussion. This program is not a replacement for mental health services but an opportunity to feel less isolated on your journey as a parent or guardian. Drop In

Free Homeschool and Tutoring Resource Educate Station provides quality educational content for homeschooling families and teachers. It was developed by experienced and passionate educators from across the United States. Worksheets can be used by tutors or families looking to support the school curriculum. An account is only necessary to save lesson plans, but it is not required to access content. You will not need your library card number when using it in the library, but you may need it to log in from home or when traveling outside Glen Carbon.

Read with Dogs 2nd Monday Once a Month at 6:30 pm May 12 Sit with licensed therapy dogs, and read a story of your choosing! You’ll have 15 minutes to read and pet a loveable dog! We have two dogs at each event *We no longer take reservations for this event. Drop In

Tech Club Grades 3-7 Select Mondays at 6:30 pm May 19: Spheros Explore technology and coding in this club for kids looking to get hands-on experience using different tech! We will be learning how to drive Spheros and making obstacle courses out of cardboard.

Art Unlimited Grades 6-12 Tuesdays Twice a Month from 6-7:30 pm May 13: Painted Planters Join Sam at the library as we craft and create! Each month will feature a different art medium and project, lasting two weeks. Get your creativity flowing with your friends!
