Dragon Cards are back, create a boo-tiful craft at our Witching Hour event, and pop by Yanda Cabin for stories and a sweet treat! October is coming in hot with a full month of programs and outreach! Our Hallow-Read challenge begins on October 1; registration is now open. Cozy up with a spine-tingling book and indulge in other ghoulish activities to earn creepy badges and new Reading Dragons cards! There is still space in our Witching Hour event on Saturday, October 11 at 1 pm! We will have a magical afternoon for families with enchanted activities and a performance by the Edwardsville High School Drama Club! We are confident we will brew up a program to delight all! Registering is the only way to ensure you can participate in the activities. Find Miss Chrissy at Yanda Log Cabin twice this month! Stop by Cabin Day on Saturday, October 4, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm to say hello and create a copper etching craft! She'll also be reading stories at Yanda Cabin for a Spooky Storytime with a fire pit for cooking s'mores on Wednesday, October 15, at 6:30 pm! We've rearranged some areas in the Kids Area and Teen Area over the past month. We've created a cozy reading area for teens by shifting around our computers. We've made more space for our growing Board Book and Picture Book collections. Kits have been moved to our Parent/Teacher resources. Holiday books are now on the shelves behind our Paperback Picture Books section. More changes are coming to improve both browsing and discoverability! Best, Aimee Villet Youth Services Director
