Back Entrance Concrete Replaced
 
Our back entrance was closed the last week of May for construction, but it has been reopened.
 
The concrete outside the door was replaced, and the results have made this entrance safer and more accessible. A big thank you goes out to Public Works for their excellent work! We also want to thank our library community for your patience during the week.
 
Summer Reading 2025: Level Up at Your Library
 
Summer Reading is just around the corner! Preregistration opens Monday, June 9 over on Beanstack (bplwv.beanstack.org or the Beanstack Tracker app), and the program officially starts on Saturday, June 14. Our summer reading program is open to all ages from infants to adults, and we have something for everyone. We have a dozen unique prizes this year including a Mahjong set, Pokemon TCG Elite Trainer Box, and Nintendo Switch OLED.
 
This year is a team challenge! When you register, you will get to choose between Team Ice and Team Fire and compete to read the most minutes throughout summer reading. The top readers and badge earners of each team will win a special prize, and we will decorate parts of the library in the winning team's colors and theme after summer reading ends.
 
Summer Reading Kickoff

Saturday, June 14
3:00-4:30 PM
Back Parking Lot / Children's Area

Join us in the rear parking lot to pick up all the supplies and information you need to level up your learning and reading during summer reading. We will also have refreshments available.
 
We will have many outdoor games including cornhole, parachutes, giant Jenga, and more! We also have a special guest attending--Llama from the Llama Llama book series. There will be something for all ages at the kickoff!
 
Peaceful Forest
Japanese Taiko Drum Performance

While you're at the Kickoff, be sure to stop by the Children's Area to listen to a special Japanese taiko drum performance from 3:30-4:00 PM. The performing group is called Peaceful Forest. Find out more about them on their website.
 
Beanstack Help

We understand navigating Beanstack to participate in our reading challenges can sometimes be its own kind of challenge. We are here to help make summer reading a breeze. We will have a Beanstack Q&A table available at the Summer Reading Kickoff.
 
Additionally, join us for Tech Savvy: Rebooted on Thursday, June 12 from 1-2:30 PM for special class dedicated to Beanstack. Registration for this class is open now.
