Happy National Library Week!
 
What draws people to the library? Everything! From books and digital resources to job assistance and creative programming, libraries are essential to thriving communities. National Library Week, April 6–12, 2025, is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning.

At the Bridgeport Public Library, we invite the community to join the celebration! Whether you're a longtime patron or haven’t visited in a while, now is the perfect time to explore all the library has to offer.
New Artist Spotlight
 
Angel Khosa returns to the Artist Spotlight with new photography. Her photos will remain in the space until June. The Artist Spotlight is located in the front close to the end of the nonfiction section. 
 
This project, which was spearheaded by the Friends of the Bridgeport Public Library, aims to connect local artists with the community. We are always accepting new artists.

April Library Love Challenge

Through the entire month of April, we are running a new challenge over on Beanstack (bplwv.beanstack.org or the Beanstack Tracker app). 
 
Celebrate National Library Week (April 6-12) and spread the library love this April! Libraries are the heart of a community, so explore all your local library has to offer from April 1-30. Pick up a new book, explore resources available at your library, and earn virtual badges along the way as you share in the April Library Love!
 
Donuts with the Director

11:00-12:00, 1:00-2:00 (virtual), or 6:00-7:00

Jill is our new interim director, and she wants to hear from you about what you want to see at the library.
 
Three sessions will be offered on April 22nd. Two sessions (11 AM and 6 PM) will be in the front lobby, and the 1 PM session will be offered on Zoom. Registration is only required for the 1 PM sessions so we can send you the Zoom link. Drop by anytime during the hour to chat with Jill.


 
 
Roots & Readers (All Ages)

Library Community Garden

Roots & Readers is back for year three! Learn how to grow your own food and watch the plants grow week after week. For all ages!
 
This year we're focusing on companion planting! Anything produced by the garden will be given to those who attend Roots & Readers.
