Dungeons & Dragons D&D I Wednesday, May 8 & 22 4:00-6:00 PM D&D II Saturday, May 25 11:00-1:00 PM Join us for Dungeons & Dragons! Our first campaign meets every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, and our second campaign meets the last Saturday of the month. Dice, pencils, and blank character sheets are provided. We also have copies of the Players Handbook available for reference.

Philosophy Hour Thursday, May 2 1:00-2:00 PM An hour given over to discussion of different topics; from the universe to the atom and everything in between. Once the class starts, a discussion box will be provided for participants to share topics of discussion they are interested in. Join us for an hour of interesting dialogue and points of view. The group will meet the 1st and 2nd Thursday of every month from 1:00-2:00 PM. All are welcome!

Brush Hour Monday, May 6 5:30-6:30 PM Event Space Brush Hour is our monthly acrylic painting class. This is NOT a guided class. All supplies are provided. For National Pet Month, we are painting pawprints, but feel free to bring a photo of your pet.

The Write Connection Tuesday, May 7 5:30-6:30 PM Event Space The Write Connection is our monthly writing group. We will have a short writing exercise each meeting, time to give advice, and tips to improve your writing and to navigate the publishing world.
Local author, Angela Baldree, will be joining us in May as our special guest. She is the author of Your Brother, a historical fiction novel about an Italian immigrant family in Kingmont, WV.

Tech Savvy Wednesday, May 8 1:00-2:30 PM Makerspace Learn the basics of creating a new account, keeping passwords secure, types of common scams, where to report scams, and how to maintain your privacy on the web. Content provided by digitallearn.org. Using technology doesn't have to be daunting. Learning it in small steps can build your confidence. This monthly class will build on the skills you need to be able to use the computer, and other devices, confidently. After each class, if it is determined you need more practice, one-on-one assistance can be scheduled to work on specific areas. This program is geared for older adults.

Craft Swap Monday, May 20
2:30-3:30 PM Event Space Looking to get rid of unwanted craft supplies, or are you looking to replenish? This event is for you to do one, the other, or both! If you bring materials to give away, no money can be exchanged, and you MUST take any remaining items back with you.
Registration for those bringing materials is required but optional for those just looking to browse. Please stay with your items for the full program. You do not need to bring craft supplies to participate.

Signing Made Easy Tuesday, May 21 5:00pm - 7:00pm
Event Space Signs focusing around numbers and nouns. American Sign Language is the beautiful language used by the Deaf community. Practice both your expressive and receptive skills while building on vocabulary and Deaf culture. Signers will even learn to convey complex, abstract, and subtle ideas using handshapes, body language, and facial expressions. Combination of group teaching, partner practice, videos, and games for learning. Beginners welcome! For all ages and levels. Program offered 3rd Tuesday of the month. Please register.

Genealogy Roundtable
Wednesday, May 22 5:00pm - 7:00pm Event Space The West Virginia Division of Culture and History will present on how they can assist you in discovering more of your genealogical roots. Debra Basham, Assistant Director of Archives and History, will be sharing about the vast WV collections within the West Virginia Division of Culture and History. Learn what can be accessed online and in their Charleston building. If you want to check out their site ahead of time: https://wvculture.org/ The site features primary and secondary source documents, photographs, and databases; lists collections available in the State Archives; and provides research guides and assistance for genealogists. Crochet: Pansy
Thursday, May 30 3:30-5:00 PM Event Space In this advanced beginner class, we will follow a pattern and learn simple color changes to crochet a pansy flower. All supplies are provided in this free class for adults. Basic crochet experience (knowing how to chain and single/double crochet) is highly recommended to complete the pansy, but beginners are welcome to come learn the basics.
