The spellshop
by Sarah Beth Durst
When the Great Library of Alyssium goes up in flames, introverted librarian Kiela and her sentient spider plant flee to the faraway island of her childhood where she opens a spell shop to restore the island's power, coming out of her shell to make a new life for herself.
Megan's Notes: This fantasy romance was recommended to me by Shannon, and I've been loving it so far! The atmospheric island setting, food descriptions, and heartfelt characters make this such a cozy, escapist story. It's like cottagecore meets Baldree's Legends & Lattes and Miyazaki's Howl's Moving Castle. It makes for a perfect summer comfort read.
