March 2026
Mabel C Fry Public Library Adult Events
Hello Library friends!
There is a bit of a worm issue at the Mabel Fry! We received a grant through the organization "Let's Go Compost" for our very own vermicomposting bin which will be maintained at the library. I am very excited about two upcoming compost programs. "The Dirt on Composting" will be held the first Thursday at 6:00 pm, led by our own Angela Mabray. Angela is an avid composter and will give helpful tips on traditional and worm composting for those who would like to get a start on the process. One free tumbling composter will be raffled off. The following Monday, we will hold a family vermicomposting program to inform our younger gardening enthusiasts and their families. That workshop has already filled to capacity, so clearly there is interest in our wriggly friends!
Our second adult program will be Coffee 101, led by Mike Gray of Vacca Coffeehouse. He will discuss some of its interesting history as well as brewing methods and tips to make a better cup of coffee at home.
Let's Talk About It registration is now live! Limited copies of "In Cold Blood" will be available to be picked up at the front desk from now through March and participants can enjoy dinner (provided) and a discussion with a local scholar on the evening of April 2. Please save the date! This will be a great evening.
Page Turners will also be meeting, where participants gather for lively discussions of books as well as great company.
We'll see you soon!
