January 2026
Mabel C Fry Public Library Adult Events
New Year’s Greetings!
For those who don’t know me yet, I’d love to introduce myself. My name is Stephanie Askeland and I have been working as a programmer at the Mabel Fry for nine years now. I have worked with every age group starting with Early Literacy and Children’s and then Tweens and Young Adult. Currently, I will be organizing Children and Adult events. My favorite programs are fun but informative and my hobbies drift toward cooking, EATING, and art. I am sincerely looking forward to finding out the interests of our community so that together we can put on some great adult programs in the next year.
We’re excited to invite you to a few upcoming events in this new year! All ages are invited to a unique crafting event, Chihuly-inspired Sharpie Art. And if you haven’t already visited the breathtaking Chihuly exhibit at the Oklahoma Museum of Art, visitors of all ages will receive FREE access to the Museum on the second Sunday of each month. I’ll be taking a peek on January 8! Join us for a Puzzle Swap, where you can bring a puzzle and take a puzzle, piece against the clock, or visit with other puzzlers. Page Turners will also be meeting, where participants gather for lively discussions of books as well as great company.
In February, look out for a couple of foodie programs! In addition to a workshop on Kimbap, we will also be hosting a Cook the Book potluck. Participants are encouraged to stop by the library to select a recipe from a selected book, cook the dish, and bring it to to share with others the evening of Thursday, Feb 19.
Hopefully there is something that catches your eye over the next couple of months!
Stephanie
