All CMRLS Libraries and the Administrative Office will be closed Monday, October 13 in observance of the federal holiday, Columbus Day. Regular library hours will resume Tuesday, October 14. Digital media and resources can be found 24/7 on our website. National Friends of the Library Week is October 19-25, 2025! Libraries are so thankful for Friends. Our Friends groups make equipment, books, holiday decorating, refreshments, programs, and more possible in all of the CMRLS Libraries. If you are interested in working with a group to support your Library and better your community, a Friends to Your Library is what you want to be! Annual membership begins as low as $2 for students. Ask the staff at your library for information and become a Friend to your Library. Are you looking for a safe place to celebrate Halloween or Harvest Time with your little ones? Be sure to check your library events at right and then take a look at the Events Calendar for even more holiday events near you.

Meet our Staff Mary is the Youth Services Supervisor for the Pearl Public Library! Read what Mary has to say about herself below: Hi! I'm Mary, the Youth Services Supervisor! I've been a Pearl Pirate since day one and grew up coming to the Pearl Library. I have a mountain of half-finished crochet projects and two cats that love sleeping on them. I play D&D every week and mostly read fantasy with a soft magic system and a touch of romance. Right now, I'm reading Little Thieves by Margaret Owen and I'm always looking for new book recommendations!

Many Thanks to the Spring Lake Garden Club The Pearl Public Library is so appreciative of the Spring Lake Garden Club. The dedicated plant enthusiasts who run this wonderful club help the Pearl Public Library in various ways, bringing their love of plants to the patrons of Pearl through displays, tending our award-winning garden, arranging a fresh flower display each month, and refilling our seed library. ...and to the Master Gardeners! The Mississippi State University Master Gardeners also help tend to our award-winning garden, for which we are so grateful. Many thanks are extended to the Master Gardeners who work so diligently to tend to various different plants in the garden, such as fresh fruit plants, vegetables, herbs, and flowers.

Staff Development Day The Pearl Public Library was honored to host the Central Mississippi Regional Library System’s “Through the Decades” Staff Development Day! This training brought staff together from across the system to celebrate our shared mission, strengthen our skills, and enjoy time with colleagues. Throughout the day, participants engaged in learning opportunities, gained new ideas to take back to their libraries, and reflected on how far library services have come over the decades. The day also included plenty of laughter, delicious food, and team-building activities, making it both enriching and fun.
