All CMRLS Libraries will be closed April 24, 2026, for Team Development. Regular library hours will resume on Saturday, April 25, for branches with regular Saturday hours. Monday, April 10: Right to Read Day, a day for readers, advocates, and library lovers to take action to protect, defend, and celebrate the right to read. Tuesday, April 21: National Library Workers Day, a day for library staff, users, administrators, and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers. Wednesday, April 22: National Library Outreach Day, a day to celebrate library outreach and the dedicated library professionals who are meeting their patrons needs where they are. April 19-25 is National Library Week! This year's theme is "Find Your Joy" and features Honorary Chair Mychal Threets, new host of children's program "Reading Rainbow!" National Library Week is a time to celebrate our nation's libraries, library workers' contributions, and promote library use and support. We are super excited and are celebrating all month long with a CMRLS Library Crawl, a fun month-long event where participants visit different libraries and collect stamps in a passport while exploring programs, resources, and communities! Pearl Public Schools Art Reception Funded by the Friends of the Pearl Public Library The library was proud to host our annual Art Reception in partnership with the Pearl Public School District, welcoming community members, students, and families for an evening dedicated to creativity and achievement. Attendees had the opportunity to gather and connect over light refreshments, generously provided by the Friends of the Pearl Library, whose continued support helps make events like this possible. This year marked another successful collaboration between the library and the school district, celebrating the arts and strengthening community connections. We thank everyone who attended and contributed to making the evening memorable.

Story Times Lapsit Story Time (0-2 Years) Every Thursday at 10:30 a.m. Join us for Baby Lapsit Story Time, a special program designed for our youngest patrons (0–2 years old) and their caregivers. This cozy, interactive session features rhymes, songs, simple stories, and movement to support early language development and bonding time. Preschool Story Time (3-5 Years) Every Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Join us for a fun and interactive Preschool Story Time designed especially for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers! Each week, we’ll explore exciting themes through stories, songs, fingerplays, and movement that spark imagination and build early literacy skills. Peanuts Story Time (Kindergarten- 5th Grade) Every Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. Calling all curious kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade! Join us for a special Story Time designed just for school-aged readers. Each session features exciting read-alouds, fun group activities, and hands-on creativity — from crafts to games and more!
