All CMRLS Libraries and the Administrative Office will be closed Monday, November 10 for Team Development and Tuesday, November 11 in observance of the federal holiday, Veterans Day. Regular library hours will resume Wednesday, November 12. Digital media and resources can be found 24/7 on our website.

The Central Mississippi Regional Library System will soon be transitioning its eMagazine
service from Flipster to cloudLibrary Newsstand.
This transition will be coming soon!
CloudLibrary Newsstand will offer a wider variety of digital magazines, an improved reading experience, and seamless access through the cloudLibrary app—using the same library card credentials you already have.
Additional information and instructions for accessing cloudLibrary Newsstand will be shared as the transition date approaches. We appreciate your patience and look forward to providing an even better

Nancy
Nancy is the Branch Manager of the Pearl Public Library. Here's What she has to say about herself: 
Hey! My name is Nancy and I am the Branch Manager here at the Pearl Library! I am from Clinton, MS and I currently live in Jackson with my cat, Cake. I received my AA in English from Hinds Community College, my BA in English from the University of Southern Mississippi, and more recently, my Master of Library and Information Science from USM in 2024. I have worked in public libraries since 2021 and have served as Library Associate, Youth Services Manager, and Branch Manager.
I like writing poetry, hanging out with friends, attending concerts, enjoying good food, and playing Webkinz.

Preschool Story Time
Join us for a fun and interactive Preschool Story Time designed especially for children ages 3 to 5 and their caregivers! Each week, we’ll explore exciting themes through stories, songs, fingerplays, and movement that spark imagination and build early literacy skills.
Peanuts Story Time
Calling all curious kids in Kindergarten through 5th grade! Join us for a special Story Time designed just for school-aged readers. Each session features exciting read-alouds, fun group activities, and hands-on creativity — from crafts to games and more!
Lapsit Story Time
Join us for Baby Lapsit Story Time, a special program designed for our youngest patrons (0–18 months) and their caregivers. This cozy, interactive session features rhymes, songs, simple stories, and movement to support early language development and bonding time.
Adopt a Dinosaur
 Come make a dino-craft, win a Dino Trivia Challenge, and show off your best dino growl for a Prize: a “Real” Dinosaur egg!

Library Pet Shop
Learn money management using play money to adopt a plushie! Children will name their new pet, receive their certificate of adoption, and take their pet to it's first vet check up. 
 
Each child will receive a small plushie to take home and a select number of larger plushies will be available on a first come, first serve basis.

Novel Tea Book Club 
Looking for a good read and great conversation? Join our Adult Book Club, a welcoming space for book lovers to connect, share perspectives, and discover new titles together.
Each month, we’ll read a selected book and come together to discuss themes, characters, and takeaways while sharing tea and other refreshments. This month, we will be reading The Fall of the House of Zeus by Curtis Wilke! Two different meeting times for your convenience!
Friends of the Library Meeting
Join us for our monthly Friends of the Library Meeting! Adults only, November 20th at 6:00 p.m.! Visit the library to learn how to become a friend!

 Join us for our disability support group meeting! We will share discussions, enjoy refreshments, sensory activities, and enjoy a Quick Drawing Lesson with Ms. Emily!  Children, teens, or adults with disabilities or their caregivers are welcome! Want to boost your creativity or learn to draw but don’t know where to start? Join us for quick, beginner-friendly drawing lessons at the library! Each session focuses on simple techniques and fun prompts to help you build confidence and sharpen your skills—no experience needed.
Chess Group
Want to learn how to play chess? Know how to play, but need a new opponent? We cover the rules of the game at the beginning of every meeting for new players, tactics, and a little bit of opening strategy.
Boards and pieces are provided, but feel free to bring your own!
