Celebrate St. Patrick's Day and Irish-American Heritage Month by reading fiction with the subject Irish or Irish-American, biographies, non-fiction about travel and places, or watch videos, everything from music, dance, Irish authors, even sports! The video, More Than a Game, follows Akron's St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish high school basketball team (featuring five future NBA players, including superstar LeBron James) as they win their way to national acclaim. Check Ancestry.com Library Edition (which can be accessed from any CMRLS Library) to see if you can claim Irish ancestors. Ask Library staff if help is needed. It is reported that as much as 11% of Americans have Irish ancestors and the Irish-American population is seven times larger than Ireland! (Washington Post; 3/17/2013)
