All CMRLS Libraries will be closed April 24, 2026, for Team Development. Regular library hours will resume on Saturday, April 25, for branches with regular Saturday hours.

Monday, April 10: Right to Read Day, a day for readers, advocates, and library lovers to take action to protect, defend, and celebrate the right to read. 
 
Tuesday, April 21: National Library Workers Day, a day for library staff, users, administrators, and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers.
 
Wednesday, April 22: National Library Outreach Day, a day to celebrate library outreach and the dedicated library professionals who are meeting their patrons needs where they are.
 
Thursday, April 23: Take Action for Libraries Day, a day to rally advocates to support libraries

Take and Make Crafts
Icons - Grab and Go Bag - Blue
 
Children are invited to stop by the library and pick up a Take and Make Craft Kit. Each kit includes the supplies and simple instructions needed to complete a fun craft at one. Just stop by the library, pick up a kit, and take it home to enjoy whenever it is convenient
 
Guessing Jar
 
 
All month long, stop by and try your luck at our Guess the Eggs in a Jar challenge! A large jar filled with chocolate eggs will be on display throughout April, and everyone is invited to submit their best guess for how many eggs are inside. At the end of April we will announce the winner. 
 
Word Game Challenge
 
Test your vocabulary with this fun, ongoing word game! Throughout the week, a set of letter tiles will be displayed. Using those letters, try to create the highest-scoring word you can.
Write down your best word and turn it in for a chance to see how it stacks up against other players. Longer and more creative words may earn higher scores, so put your language skills to the test!
This is a passive game, so you can participate anytime during your visit. Stop by, take a look at the letter tiles, and see what word you can create.

April 19-25 is National Library Week!
This year's theme is "Find Your Joy" and features Honorary Chair Mychal Threets, new host of children's program "Reading Rainbow!" 
 
National Library Week is a time to celebrate our nation's libraries, library workers' contributions, and promote library use and support.
We are super excited and are celebrating all month long with a CMRLS Library Crawl, a fun month-long event where participants visit different libraries and collect stamps in a passport while exploring programs, resources, and communities!

Preschool Story Time
Mondays at 11:00 a.m.
 
Preschool Story Time is a fun and engaging program designed for children and their caregivers. Each program includes age-appropriate books, interactive songs that encourage movement and participation, and a simple hands-on craft. The activities are thoughtfully chosen to support early literacy, creativity, and social skills, while providing an enjoyable shared experience for both children and adults. Preschool Story Time is on Monday at 11:00 a.m.

We will be watching "Lady and the Tramp" from Walt Disney Pictures. This movie is rated PG, and the runtime is 103 minutes.

Thursday, April 16 at 6:00 pm
 
We will be making decorative picture frames using puzzle pieces. Participants will decorate picture frames by arranging and gluing colorful puzzle pieces to create a unique design. Once finished, you will have a one-of-a-kind frame perfect for displaying your favorite photo.

Bring the whole family and put your knowledge to the test at Family Trivia Night! Teams will compete in a variety of fun and family-friendly trivia rounds, covering topics like movies, books, history, pop culture, and more! Work together, share a few laughs, and see how many answers your team can get right.
 
After School Story Time

After School Story Time is a fun and engaging program designed especially for young children. Each program includes delightful stories, songs, and a simple craft that helps bring the stories to life. Squirrel Hunt
Saturday, April 25 at 1:00 pm
 
Stop by the library and help us celebrate National Library Week with a game of Squirrel Hunt. Hidden throughout the library are paper squirrels waiting to be found. Your challenge is to explore the shelves, reading areas, and corners of the library to spot as many squirrels as you can. When you are finished, write down the number on your sheet, then turn in your sheet at the front desk. If your answer is correct, you will win a special prize!

Group Of Students Studying Together At The Library
 Join our Writers' Group at the library for a creative, supportive space to explore your writing. Whether you enjoy writing stories, poetry, memoirs, essays, or journaling, this group welcomes writers of all experience levels. Participants can share their work, respond to writing prompts, exchange ideas, and offer encouragement and constructive feedback. It is a great opportunity to develop your writing skills, spark new ideas, and connect with others who enjoy writing. Bring something you are working on or simply come read to write and listen. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced writer, the Writers' Group is a place to create, learn, and be inspired.
 
Library Bingo

Get ready for a fun and lively game of Library Bingo! Players will receive bingo cards and compete through several rounds for the chance to win small prizes. Library Bingo is a great way to spend time with friends, meet fellow library visitors, and enjoy a little friendly competition. With multiple rounds and chances to win, everyone has an opportunity to take part in the fun.
