Celebrate St. Patrick's Day and Irish-American Heritage Month by reading fiction with the subject Irish or Irish-American, biographies, non-fiction about travel and places, or watch videos, everything from music, dance, Irish authors, even sports! The video, More Than a Game, follows Akron's St. Vincent-St. Mary Fighting Irish high school basketball team (featuring five future NBA players, including superstar LeBron James) as they win their way to national acclaim. Check Ancestry.com Library Edition (which can be accessed from any CMRLS Library) to see if you can claim Irish ancestors. Ask Library staff if help is needed. It is reported that as much as 11% of Americans have Irish ancestors and the Irish-American population is seven times larger than Ireland! (Washington Post; 3/17/2013)

Teen Craft Night will be on Thursday, March 5 at 6:00 pm. We will be creating shamrock wall art. All supplies will be provided by the Friends of the Richland Library.

Richland Writer's Group will meet on Monday, March 2 and 16 at 6:00 pm. Richland Writer's Group is a group of local writers who meet and discuss the craft of writing. All skill levels are welcome. Color and Conversation will be on Thursday, March 12 at 6:00 pm. Supplies will be provided, but your welcome to bring your own supplies. Coffee and Books book club will be on Thursday, March 19 at 10:30 am. Every month we discuss the current book selection and vote on the next book selection. New comers are welcome to jump in at anytime. Call the Library for this month's title.
