Monday, April 8: State of America's Libraries Report released, including Top Ten Frequently Challenged Books of 2018. Tuesday, April 9: National Library Workers Day, a day for library staff, administrators, and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers. #nlwd19 Wednesday, April 10: National Bookmobile Day, a day to recognize the contributions of our nation's bookmobiles and the dedicated professionals who make high-quality bookmobile outreach possible in their communities. #BookmobileDay2019 Monday, April 29: Team Development Day ALL CMRLS libraries will be closed.

SCOTT COUNTY READS: Mississippi Author Michael Farris Smith The Forest Public Library is hosting the Second Annual County-Wide Event for National Library Week with an author appearance by Mississippi's own Michael Farris Smith on Tuesday, April 9, at 6:00 p.m. Farris will be talking about his latest book and signing books, such as The Fighter. Delta-themed refreshments will be served. The program is brought to you by the public libraries of Forest, Morton, Lake, and Sebastopol, and in partnership with Forest Community Arts. LIBRARY LAB: Genealogy 101~ Steps to Uncovering Your Genealogy The Scott County Genealogical and Historical Society is presenting a special LIBRARY LAB entitled Genealogy 101: Steps to Creating Your Genealogy. The program is set for Saturday, April 13, from 9:00 a.m. until NOON. The morning's schedule includes Tips and Tricks, a Panel Q & A, Using Ancestry Online, Discovering Your DNA, and Benefits of Society Membership. If you have ever wanted to discover your roots, this LIBRARY LAB is the place to start. The society will host its regular meeting the following Saturday on April 20 at 10:00 a.m. 2-TUE-2 BOOK CLUB: It Happened in a Library! This month, the books club is celebrating National Library Week with books about libraries!
