April 9-15 is... National Library Week!

Local resident, L. Pete Heard, has published Out of the Earth: A Memoir. He will be visiting the Reservoir Library on Tuesday, April 11, from 4:00pm until 5:30pm. Come by and meet L. Pete Heard, hear him speak about his experiences, and read a selection from his book, Out of the Earth: A Memoir. Copies will be available for purchase and signing. The Friends of the Reservoir Library are proud sponsors of this event. Heard was born during the great depression and reared on a small farm in Holmes County, Mississippi. Among Heard's numerous achievements include a 52-year career devoted to furthering the goals of the modern conservation movement. He is recognized as a role model for the natural resource professionals and has been honored as an action-oriented, knowledgeable leader with a passion for resource management and exemplary public service. Heard received his B.S. in Forestry and his M.S. in Game Management from Louisiana State University. On April 26, 2014, the Forestry, Wildlife and Fisheries Alumni Association and School of Renewable Resources inducted Heard into the LSU Hall of Fame. Heard is retired with his wife Myrna, but his mind and heart are still in the fight for a society that understands the interaction of all things in this world.

Sensory-Enhanced Story Time |

Reservoir Library is proud to present a Sensory-Enhanced Story Time. This is a program designed for all ages who have sensory processing disorders and is presented at a preschool level of development. The purpose of the story time is to offer a modified experience that our audience will benefit from. Parents, guardians, or caretakers will need to remain near their child throughout the class. Classes will be on the last Monday of the month at 3pm, but will be moved to another day if that falls on a holiday. The April class will be held on Monday, April 17, at 3pm. To ensure adequate space for movement, the class size cannot exceed 5 children, thus, preregistration is required. Please call the Reservoir Library at 601-992-2539 to register today.

Mugshots & CMRLS are continuing to present "A Family Trivia Nite!" It will be held on the third Tuesday, monthly, at 6:30 PM at the Mugshots on the corner of Lakeland Drive and Airport Road. For March, that will be Tuesday the 21st. We've had a lot of fun at the previous events and look forward to the next one. Great questions! Great prizes! Great fun!
