Important Closure Information: Our light renovation project is set to start at the end of April. We will be closed tentatively from April 27 to May 24. May 28 we will reopen to the public, depending on project speed. During this time, the branch will be closed to in-person visits, and curbside services will also be unavailable. If you are in need of printing and faxing, the Reservoir Public Library is a 10-minute drive from the Flowood location. If you are in need of proctor or notary services, the Brandon Public Library is a close option. Call ahead to ensure the proctor or notary are available for the time you need the service. Y ou can still visit any of our other CMRLS branches to pick up and return books. Check out our website for a list of branches near you. www.cmrls.lib.ms.us. Outdoor Preschool Story Time for Kids Only from April 27 to May 24 Weather permitting, we will be having story time for kids on the library lawn with take-home crafts on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. Online Story Time for Kids will be available in our virtual reference collection on the CMRLS website. Lapsit Story Time Tuesdays 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Bring your little one for stories and music. Preschool Story Time Wednesdays and Thursdays 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Join us for Preschool Story Time! There will be stories, music, and a craft. Bring your preschooler and come join the fun! Outdoor Preschool Story Time Wednesdays and Thursdays 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Between the dates of April 27-May 28, we will be holding outdoor story times for preschoolers with take-home crafts outside on the library lawn, if weather allows.

Total Solar Eclipse Monday, April 8 (Eclipse at 12:33 p.m.) We will be handing out eclipse glasses starting on April 1, so we can observe safely! If you would like a pair of eclipse glasses, you must bring your library card. One pair of glasses will be handed out per library card holder. The eclipse will begin around 12:33 p.m. with the largest coverage occurring at 1:53 p.m. The eclipse will end around 3:12 p.m., according to NASA. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Tournament Saturday, April 13 1:00 p.m. in the Large Meeting Room We're bringing back Mario Kart 8 for National Library Week! We will be playing with the library's Nintendo Switch setups, but you are welcome to bring a controller if you prefer to use your own. Categories will be divided into under 8 years old, 9-13 years old, and 14+/adult. There will be a maximum of 16 spots per category, so if you wish to participate, try to arrive by 1 PM. As always, we will provide refreshments! Crochet for Kids Saturday, April 20 1:00 p.m. in the Large Meeting Room Want to learn to crochet? Join us on April 20 at 1:00 p.m. to learn a few basics! We will be making a bookmark. This event is only for ages 18 and under. *Supplies are very limited, so registration on the online calendar is required for this event. Dungeons & Dragons Day Saturday, April 27 1:00 p.m. in the Large Meeting Room Back to one-shots! Pre-generated character sheets will be available (or bring your own from our March Character Workshop). This event will be taking place at the Flowood Library in the large meeting room on April 27, but you will not be able to enter the main library area due to the renovations. *Please register in advance with a librarian to ensure you get a spot on a campaign!
