All CMRLS Libraries will be closed April 24, 2026, for Team Development. Regular library hours will resume on Saturday, April 25, for branches with regular Saturday hours. Monday, April 10: Right to Read Day, a day for readers, advocates, and library lovers to take action to protect, defend, and celebrate the right to read. Tuesday, April 21: National Library Workers Day, a day for library staff, users, administrators, and Friends groups to recognize the valuable contributions made by all library workers. Wednesday, April 22: National Library Outreach Day, a day to celebrate library outreach and the dedicated library professionals who are meeting their patrons needs where they are. April 19-25 is National Library Week! This year's theme is "Find Your Joy" and features Honorary Chair Mychal Threets, new host of children's program "Reading Rainbow!" National Library Week is a time to celebrate our nation's libraries, library workers' contributions, and promote library use and support. We are super excited and are celebrating all month long with a CMRLS Library Crawl, a fun month-long event where participants visit different libraries and collect stamps in a passport while exploring programs, resources, and communities! Easter Egg Hunt Thursday, April 2 at 3:30 p.m. in the Large Meeting Room Hop on over and join us for an egg-citing Easter egg hunt at Flowood! Bring your basket, your smiles, and get ready for a hopping good time. Bingo for Books Monday, April 6 at 6:00 p.m. in the Large Meeting Room We'll be playing bingo with book prizes for all age ranges, so bring your whole family! Everyone will get to go home with at least one book (or more, if you're lucky)! Refreshments are also provided. Decorate a Flowerpot Saturday, April 18 at 1:00 p.m. in the Large Meeting Room Join us for a hands-on family craft where imagination takes root! Families can mix, paint, doodle, and decorate their flower pots with bold colors, playful designs, and creative touches. Add a seed at the end, and you'll leave with a living keepsake. Tabletop Roleplaying Game Night Saturday, April 25 at 1:00 p.m. in the Large Meeting Room Tabletop roleplaying games are games traditionally played with pen, paper, and dice. Players create characters, take on challenges with combat or social skills, and collaboratively shape a story. We meet once a month, and new players are always welcome! If you're a DM and would like to participate, let us know, so we can help get you set up!

Registration is required, so please contact us at the library to guarantee a spot! 3D Pen Figure Making with Kristen Price Monday, April 20 at 6:00 p.m. in the Small Conference Room Unleash your creativity in our hands-on 3D Pen Figure-Making Class designed especially for teens! In this exciting workshop, teens will learn how to use a 3D pen and create figures, from animals and fantasy characters to mini sculptures and custom designs. All supplies are provided! We'll be gathering in the large meeting room at the Flowood Library before strolling together to Winners Circle Park across the street to draw some nature!
