The Needle Arts League of Michigan City, formerly known as the Knit Club, joins the library in promoting all forms of needle arts. Membership is open to anyone interested in needle arts such as crochet, needlepoint, cross-stitch, crewel, tatting, and other hand stitching. All skill levels and ages are welcome. Join us as we celebrate the new Youth Services Department, complete with a Makerspace. We’ll have live demonstrations of a variety of activities and equipment in the Makerspace. Also, there will be a limited supply of free giveaways. Light refreshments will be served following the dedication at 4:00 pm.

Writing Out Loud: Clare O'Donohue

Best-selling mystery and suspense author Clare O’Donohue was born in Chicago. She loved to read. She received a degree in International Studies with a minor in Economics, then worked as a newspaper reporter on a small weekly. Later she worked in television as a field producer on documentary and true crime shows. Her passion for writing led to documentaries, speeches, articles, and most amazingly of all – books. In 2008 she published her first novel, The Lover’s Knot. Her 8th novel, Beyond the Pale, is the first in the World of Spies Mystery series. The Friends of the Library will host a reception and book signing following the program. All programs are free and open to the public.
