Make It @ MCPL: Tinkercad

Makerspace
Registration required. Design, remix, and explore your creativity with Tinkercad! Tinkercad is a free online collection of software tools that help people all over the world think, create and make. This session is for children ages 10-18 and serves as an introduction to anyone that is curious about, or interested in, 3D design, art, and printing. No prior experience necessary. All registered participants will get a 3D print of their creations. Register at the Youth Services desk or call 219-873-3045 for more info. Space is limited. MCPL 3-D printing rules apply. Printing fee waived for this program.

Join us for CoderDojo, our free coding club for ages 8-18! We’ll be exploring all kinds of programming, using Ozobots, Spheros, Chibi Chips, and 3D modeling. We will use coding tools such as Scratch, Hopscotch, and MakeCode. Build, share ideas, and learn along the way. Kids 12 and under must have a parent attend the session with them. Join our new Graphic Novel Club. This month, we will discuss Spider-Man. We all know Peter Parker, but Miles Morales is no slouch either. After he is accidentally bitten by a genetically-engineered spider, Miles develops superhuman abilities. Discuss this exciting new addition to the Marvel universe at the fourth meeting of our monthly Graphic Novel Club. Miles is also the star of the new feature film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. 1,000 Books before Kindergarten
Register at any time for this free program designed to promote language development and a love of reading in young children. Your child will receive a special surprise (choice of an age-appropriate book or CD) for each set of 100 books that are read to them (or that they read on their own). For children ages birth through entering kindergarten.
