Makerspace
Create, discover, and tinker with LEGO WeDo, Micro Bits, paper circuits, Ozobots, and more! For kids ages 6 – 18. Kids 12 and under must have a parent or guardian attend the session with them.

Enjoy stories, songs, activities, crafts and more with the Story Time Crew! This program is for children ages birth - 5 years, accompanied by an adult. Please arrive a few minutes early to receive a name tag for your child.

Tinkercad

Advanced registration required. Design, remix, and explore your creativity with Tinkercad! This session is for children ages 10-18 and serves as an introduction to anyone that is curious about, or interested in, 3D design, art, and printing. No prior experience necessary. All registered participants will get a 3D print of their creations. MCPL 3-D printing rules apply. Register at the Youth Services desk or call 219-873-3045 for more information. Space is limited. Printing fee waived for this program.

Creative Coding Club

Creative coding emphasizes creativity in computing over technical details. This program supports the development of personal connections to computing by drawing upon creativity, imagination, and interests. Children and families will have fun exploring and creating with a variety of interactive media projects using the Scratch programming language, Makey Makey, and the BBC Micro:bit. For children ages 8-18. Kids 12 and under must have a parent or guardian attend the session with them.

This interactive event is perfect for infants & children up to 5 years old with their parents or guardians. The Story Time Crew entertains with stories & songs and guides a craft project. Admission to the Lubeznik Center is FREE.

Graphic Novel Club: The Picture of Dorian Gray

Join our Graphic Novel Club, suggested for 13-18 year-olds. The Picture of Dorian Gray is the Gothic morality tale about a man who, taken by his own beauty, pledges his soul in a desperate bid for eternal youth. However, when his wish is granted, things go terribly wrong. A painting of Dorian begins to age in his place, while Dorian himself becomes a dangerous narcissist who destroys everyone standing in his way until the day he is forced to come face to face with the ugliness of his own conscience. Register at any time for this free program designed to promote language development and a love of reading in young children. Your child will receive a special surprise (choice of an age-appropriate book or CD) for each set of 100 books that are read to them (or that they read on their own). For children ages birth through entering kindergarten.
