“Anne reveled in the world of color about her. "Oh, Marilla," she exclaimed one Saturday morning, coming dancing in with her arms full of gorgeous boughs, "I'm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers. It would be terrible if we just skipped from September to November, wouldn't it? Look at these maple branches. Don't they give you a thrill--several thrills?” – L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

October Book Discussion October 9th 5:00 - 6:30 pm No registration required Come discuss " Braiding Sweetgrass" by Robin Wall Kimmerer, on October 9 from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm at our monthly book club! The book club will be held here at the Coy Public Library. You can request this item through our digital catalog, or by calling the library at 717-532-4508. "As a botanist, Robin Wall Kimmerer has been trained to ask questions of nature with the tools of science. As a member of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, she embraces the notion that plants and animals are our oldest teachers. In Braiding Sweetgrass, Kimmerer brings these two lenses of knowledge together to take us on "a journey that is every bit as mythic as it is scientific, as sacred as it is historical, as clever as it is wise."-- Provided by publisher.
