Gardening that Heals Monday, Feb 2 Monday, Feb 9 Tuesday, Feb 17 Monday, Feb 23 6-7:30pm “At the heart of this four-part series is a simple truth: when we regenerate soil, we regenerate life.” This series reveals how regeneration begins with the smallest particles of soil and scales outward to shape healthier gardens, healthier communities, and a healthier planet. By weaving together soil science, practical gardening strategies, ecological design, and the deeply human benefits of time spent in nature, it offers a holistic path forward for anyone who wants to grow food, beauty, community, and wellbeing from the ground up. Kevin Aschim is a regenerative gardening practitioner and speaker whose work spans from backyard gardens to municipal environmental policy. With a BSc in Forestry, an MBA, and decades of experience in chemical, water treatment and agricultural industries, Kevin blends scientific knowledge with practical action and civic leadership. Community Adult Learning Program Devon Public Library is the holder of the Government of Alberta’s Community Adult Learning Program (CALP) grant. Literacy skills are needed every day at work, at home, at school and in the community. Adult literacy is about much more than reading and writing instruction. Literacy is an essential life skill, necessary for everyday decision-making to adapt and succeed in a knowledge-based economy. We offer programs to help the community with access to information and tools they need to learn, work, create, and thrive. Residents and newcomers will have the opportunity to develop employability skills training, literacy skills (including digital), English Language Learning and life skills.
