Please consider supporting the library by joining the Friends of the Cora J. Belden Library. The Friends are also collecting new or nearly new books for their ongoing book sales. Due to space limitations, we are unable to accept older items. Please check with the Information Desk for information on what to do with old books. All proceeds from memberships, auction items, book sales go towards library programming and more! SCHOLARSHIP: The Friends of the Library awards one $500 scholarship annually which recognizes a graduating senior from Rocky Hill with strong academic achievement, school and community involvement and who demonstrates an understanding of the public library's mission and services. The application form is available now via the Friends of the Library website. ADVOCACY: The current federal budget proposes elimination of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and cut $186.6 million in federal funding for the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA). Federal funding helps support Connecticut library services such as interlibrary loans. For more information: Empower Libraries website.

FEATURED RESOURCE Cora J. Belden Library helps you discover your next read. NoveList was built to help you find the books you really enjoy, books you can’t bear to put down, books you escape to and can’t wait to get back to. Watch our tutorial and then click on the Novelist link in the tutorial to try it out. CHANGES @ the Library The Library will be implementing a new security system. We will be replacing the date due cards we currently put in library books and other materials with print outs (a system that other libraries in our consortium currently use). We will be putting together handouts explaining how people can get email notifications (if you don't already) as well as how to sign into the library system to check to see when your items are due.
