Age Limits, Waivers, and IDs in the Makerspace PPLD's makerspaces open a world of creative possibilities and are open to anyone ages 9 and up. For anyone ages 9 - 18 here are a few important policies to be aware of ahead of your visit. Children ages 9 - 12 will need their own library card, an adult guardian who can stay in the makerspace with them at all times, and a waiver signed by an adult guardian on file. Teens under age 18 will also need their own library card and a waiver signed by an adult guardian. However, once the waiver is signed, they can be in the space unaccompanied. The person who signed the waiver must submit it in person and show a photo ID. Everyone who uses a PPLD makerspace needs their own library card to use the equipment. When it comes to the waivers, adults ages 18 and up can verbally agree, while minors will need to have one signed by a legal guardian. The person who signs the waiver must return it to staff in person and show a photo ID.
