Michele Moore Veldhoen is the author of The View From Right Field, which was officially launched June 14, 2018 at the George in Okotoks, Alberta. Okotoks is a central location in this light-hearted memoir about the challenges of being at home full time with young children, and the importance of regular breaks doing something you love with friends to relieve the pressure of motherhood. When Michele’s doctor concluded that her chronic fatigue was actually mild depression and that she needed to ‘go do something for herself’, she returned to her childhood love of softball and joined the Okotoks Rainbows ladies’ slo-pitch team. For the next 16 years, she played ball all over Canada with a group of free-spirited women who inspired her to remain true to herself in her search for personal fulfillment.
