Summer Reading Needs You!

Hello and welcome to summer! I hope you have been enjoying this glorious weather and spending time with family and friends. Our summer reading program is in full swing with exciting fun, free programs and events for all ages! If you haven't signed up yet, please consider doing so. We are trying to reach a community reading goal of 1,000,000 minutes this summer. JC200 Event Saturday, July 1, 10:00 am Genealogy We are featuring Lovett Township in this program with Lou Malcomb who will be here to answer questions. We also have Joe Ogle giving a presentation at 1:00 pm on the early French & German Catholic settlers who were among those who founded St. Joseph's & St. Ann's Catholic Churches. He will give a power point presentation on what areas the different families came from, the reason they might have had to immigrate, and other information on the formation of the church here. Sheila Kell will be doing a presentation on the German Protestant families who came from the village of Nordheim in the Hesse Darmstadt region of Germany, the reasons for their immigration and where they settled (many in Lovett Township).

Upcycle Books Wednesday, June 28, 2:00 pm Conference Room 2 Help us build a better world by reusing old books. At this program we will make refrigerator magnets and roses using book pages! Registration is required by June 25.

Monday Makers - (All Ages) Monday, June 26, 6:00 pm Conference Room 1 Our summer reading theme is "Build a Better World", for our Monday Makers theme we will be upcycling. This is where we take things that would have been thrown away and turn them into something beautiful. For this meeting we will be making MAGNETIC BOOKMARKS. All materials will be provided. Please note that registration is required for this event and no walk-ins will be accepted. Registration deadline is Wednesday, June 21st.
