Beneath wandering stars by Ashlee CowlesThis book was an easy read but, an eye opening one as well. I am not a military family so I have no idea what goes on besides what I hear on the news. Our main character of the story is Gabriela and her brother gets blown up by a mine in Afghanistan. He is hanging on by a thread and his request for Gabriela is to walk the Camino De Santiago through Spain. Now, she has to go on this journey with her brother's best friend Seth; whom she cannot stand, but this journey helps her grow in many ways. I thought it was great to see her transition through out the story. At the start I couldn't really stand her because she had a grudge against almost everybody and it was very off-putting. Seeing her grow up through the journey was really great. It is a great read I would recommend it.
