Connections
We are Warren County Library and we love to learn.

We hope you are having a great start to the new school year! Warren County Library is more than a place for books; it's a hub for community-wide learning. We hope to strengthen our partnership with you this year and explore new ways to support your curriculum.

Be sure to visit our Educators page to see all that we offer to schools and educators.

If you don't already have one, stop by any branch to sign up for a free library card. Visit this page to see if your school qualifies. Teacher courtesy cards grant full access to Warren County Library resources and services.

Used Books for Classrooms
Looking for inexpensive reading material for your classroom?

Visit the Gardner Branch on Saturday, December 13, 9:30-3:30 for the Holiday Book Sale. In addition, all branches have recent discards or donations available for purchase. Sales benefit the Library's Friends groups.
  • Gardner Branch (Belvidere): Year round all-ages book sale in the children's and adult areas.
  • Hofman (Blairstown): Recently deselected books available for free. When available, see the carts next to the entry doors.
  • Northeast Branch (Independence): Year round all-ages book sale along the front windows of the library.
  • Southwest Branch (Stewartsville): Year round all-ages book sale next to the circulation desk.

Field Trips & Class Visits
Bring your class to the library! We welcome groups of up to 40 to visit our branches for a tour and activity (no cost). Students can receive a behind-the-scenes tour of the library facility, learn how to navigate the library catalog, use popular digital tools, and engage in a hands-on activity. Visits can be tailored to support specific academic goals.

We would love to bring a story and activity to your classroom! We can pop in for a quick story, research demonstration, or other library-related topics.

We are frequent attenders of PTO, Literacy and STEM events. We can offer library card sign-ups, talk about library services, or staff an activity at your events.

Contact your preferred branch or our Youth Services Librarian to arrange a visit!

Reading Route
Through the Reading Route program, local preschools receive a curated bundle of children's books each month, delivered directly from Warren County Library. Participation is free and includes:
  • Rotating selection of age-appropriate picture books, early readers, and nonfiction.
  • Monthly delivery and pick up of library materials.
  • Storytime can be included depending on availability.
Reading Route is currently open to preschool centers serving children ages 3-5 within the Warren County Library service area (see list of towns and townships).
