Post Falls Meeting Room Transformation Almost Complete
Earlier this year work started on the transformation of the Post Falls Freeman Duncan Discussion Room. The plan was to take the small room from a dated 1990s seating arrangement into a 21st Century high-tech meeting space. The project will be completed at the end of this week and the room may be reserved beginning Friday, August 4. Those using the discussion room will have access to a wall-mounted interactive white board allowing direct access to the Internet and other features. The modern color pallet complements the new furniture that can be reconfigured for multiple purposes and will sit ten people comfortably. The remodel was taken on after the Post Falls International Rotary Club earmarked $5000 for the project. Meeting rooms are available at all Community Library Network libraries except for Harrison and can be used for non-commercial, non-profit use. Meetings must be open to the public. Room use is free at all libraries, unless a special room configuration is requested at Post Falls. Check out our Meeting Room Policy or call your local library for more details. Post Falls, Library Network Foundations Merge
The Post Falls Library Foundation and the Community Library Network Foundation agreed to merge at a special meeting held in late July. Both foundations agreed teaming together would be in the best interest of the District. Staff foundation liaison Anne Abrams said, “The decision was not taken lightly. It was hard decision for the Post Falls Library Foundation directors because they have been in operation for many years.” Now known as the Community Library Network Foundation, directors will be working toward capital improvement projects for all libraries: Athol, Harrison, Hayden, Pinehurst, Post Falls, Rathdrum and Spirit Lake. “Most likely they will take on one project at one library and then move on to another,” Abrams said. The foundation is always on the look out for people who want to volunteer or donate. For more information, call Abrams at 208-773-1506 x 323 or by email. Wallace is the new president of the Library Network Foundation, with Tom Lien (left of Gospodnetich) serving as treasurer and Sharon Raye as vice president.
