Summer Reading: Build a Better World
A world of adventure and discovery awaits kids and their families at the seven libraries of the Community Library Network during the “Build a Better World” summer reading program. Special events and summer programs will be held at Athol, Harrison, Hayden, Pinehurst, Post Falls, Rathdrum and Spirit Lake. The bookmobile will be on hand at parks and parades. Kids will use critical thinking and imagination with hands-on activities during weekly programs for kids and babies, including Project Build, Naturebrary, and storytimes at local parks. Teens and tweens can also show off their creativity with repurposed Maker craft projects or their cooking skills during Chopped: Fiesta Edition. Kids aged birth to 18 years who read and attend programs now through August 31 can earn fun prizes, food coupons, and free books to build their home library! Registration is now open and free to everyone—including summer visitors. Check out CommunityLibrary.Net/Kids and CommunityLibrary.Net/Teens for more information.

One Minute Survey Results
Thank you to the 219 individuals who took the time to take the one-minute survey. Four areas of focus were offered, with Educational opportunities for adults garnering 33 percent; Exposure to new technologies at 20 percent; Quiet reading and study areas at 10 percent; and Preschool and kindergarten readiness at 9 percent. While these areas and much more will always be part of our service, your responses will be used in planning for the future. In fact the information was used to create the Community Library Network’s vision statement: Your Place for Enrichment, Engagement, and Enjoyment.
