What's Happening in April? Programs for Adults Games & Social Time for Adults Thursday, April 5, 3:30 pm Join other adults for a fun time playing games and socializing. Using North Idaho Native Shrubs in Your Landscaping Thursday, April 12, 3:30 pm Join the Rathdrum garden group as Derek Antonelli, Idaho Native Plant Society, covers some of the reasons for using native shrubs in your garden. He will give details on sixteen different species of native shrubs and talk about the benefits of native shrubs for wildlife such as birds and butterflies. Seed Balls Thursday, April 19, 3:30 pm Make seed balls and help spread pollinator habitat. All you do is plant more of the wildflowers and other native plants that pollinators love to pollinate. One of the easiest and most fun ways to do this is by making and distributing seed balls - little balls of clay, soil and seeds that can be tossed anywhere where flowers are likely to grow. Weeds Are Great Medicines! Friday, April 27, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Don’t cuss your weeds, gather them for homemade remedies! We’ll taste and test the best of NW garden and driveway weeds; this may change your thinking. Knit Along Meets every Tuesday, 1 - 3 pm Bring your own project and enjoy each other's company. All skill levels welcome. Skilled knitter on hand to assist. Programs for Children & Young Adults Rathdrum Little Renaissance Kids Mondays, 10:30am; Geared to ages 3-5 (ends Monday, May 7) Preschoolers are curious kids. Indulge their growing minds at Little Renaissance Kids storytime where we’ll read one story together, then spend the rest of the time independently exploring weekly topics from the worlds of fine art, math & science, world cultures, and active play. Rathdrum It Club 2nd and 4th Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30 pm (ends Wednesday, May 9) Looking for an after school program that does “It” all from science and technology to art and adventures from some of your favorite books? The new “It Club” features something different to explore. Join us, “It” is going to be awesome! Free! Check any of our libraries to see what’s happening. For grades K-5. Maker Tots Wednesday, April 25th, 10:30 am Ages 3-5 Early learners will have a wonderful time exploring science, technology, engineering and math through fun hands-on activities! "B" Musical Mondays April 9 &16 - Build an Instrument Mondays April 23 & 30 - Musical Mishmash 3:30 pm Ages 10 - 16 Jobs 101 - Interviews, Resumes & More Tuesday, April 24th, 3:30 – 4:30 pm Geared for 8th – 12th Graders, but everyone is welcome Teens are invited to learn what it takes to prepare for their first (or second) job. Interviewing skills, resumes, career assessments, fun group activities, and more! Leave with more confidence and knowledge to get the job you want!
