The Shape of Water by Guillermo del ToroErica's Review: I thought it was very well written on an interesting premise. I would definitely recommend that you watch the movie, and then read the book to pick up all the remaining details not shown. The novel follows all of the major plot points of the screenplay, with a few twists and dialogue changes to keep it fresh, and additional background on even peripheral characters, adding much depth.
