Hanks will talk about Indie publishing at four Community Library Network locations starting Saturday, January 13. Hanks has written and published seven books and nine plays. Over the past five years she has learned the ins and outs of being an indie author and her workshops will give participants the inside track.
Saturday workshops at Athol, January 13, and Post Falls, January 20, are scheduled for 12:30-3:30 p.m., and at Spirit Lake, January 27, from 1 -4 p.m. These sessions will cover marketing, social media, and formatting for paperback and Kindle. No reservations are required.
Pinehurst Library requires registration, and will offer two workshops on Monday evenings, February 5 and 26, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. These sessions will cover e-book formatting, social media, memes, and taking marketing to the next level. All sessions are free. Call the library from more details or visit CommunityLibrary.Net/Adults.

Adults are invited to the Post Falls Library, Tuesday, January 23, 6:30 p.m., to check out new technologies. The evening includes three hands-on stations, each showcasing a high-tech tool. One station will allow folks to create simple projects for 3-D printing and watch the printer execute a design. Another station will offer virtual reality exploration, and the third will give folks a chance to create their own video game. Want more? Then make plans to attend Make It at the Library sessions at the Hayden Library. Every third Saturday from 10-11:30 a.m., January 20 through April 21, adults and kids can play together while learning about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Working solo or in teams, past projects have included cardboard creations, a "take-apart-athon" (dismantling computers and household appliances), and 3-D printing. New make-it programs are being planned now. Find out about other free programs for adults, teens, and kids at CommunityLibrary.Net/programs.
