Historic Wallace, Idaho and my unforeseen ties

During the 1883 Coeur D Alene gold rush prospectors fanned out and searched the entire area for gold. One of them, Civil War veteran Col. W.W. Wallace, founded Wallace on May 1883, the first town in what became the world re-nowed Coeur D Alene, Mining District now known as the Silver Valley) It was a typical rough and tumble mining town that is now on the Register of Historic Places. The author, Tony Bamonte, experience some fascinating and unusual ties to this town during his 26 years in law enforcement in north eastern Washington.
