It wouldn’t be February without DANA’s Chocolate Lovers’ Stroll. This year it will be held on Saturday, February 8, between noon and 2:00 PM. Once again the Richards Memorial Library will be sponsored in the event and will provide hot chocolate from Russell Morin’s Catering courtesy of The Friends of RML. This year there will be 175 tickets sold (not at the Library) starting at 11:30 AM on the day of the stroll. Last year the tickets were sold at Preservation Framers, but there hasn't been an announcement about that yet. See you then.

The United States Census is happening soon and North Attleboro needs workers to be Census Takers. You would earn extra income, have flexible hours, weekly pay and paid training starting in March. The pay is $19 to $21 for field work. Come to the library to learn how to apply and to get more information. February's dates are : Thursday, Feb 13: 9:30 am to 11:30 am Wednesday, Feb. 19: 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm Monday, Feb. 24: 9:30 am to 11:30 pm. HOW THE CENSUS BENEFITS YOUR COMMUNITY: Federal funds, grants and support to states, counties and communities are based on population totals and breakdowns by sex, age, race and other factors. Your community benefits the most when the census counts everyone. People in your community use census data in all kinds of ways, such as to support community initiatives involving legislation, quality-of-life and consumer advocacy; to decide where to build factories, offices and stores, and these create jobs; to ensure public safety and plan new schools and hospitals. And more.

Operated by Ancestry.com, HeritageQuest is free, available at home and includes international content. There is no research assistant (the leaf in Ancestry) and you have to search each collection -- census records, books, city directories, etc. -- separately. You can send the documents to your own email or download to your computer. We love the Australian television series such as Miss Fisher, Place to Call Home and Doctor Blake.
