The Richards Memorial is going to become something of a construction site in the not-too-distant future. The Representative Town Meeting authorized money in the capital improvement program to upgrade the library’s windows for greater energy efficiency. The Municipal Building Committee has contracted with CBI Consulting to investigate the options available to improve the windows without altering the appearance of the building. We expect that there may be some inconveniences once the project gets started, but we will try to minimize the disruption as much as possible.

The display near the elevator this month will feature children's and young adult books that are "in disguise." They have been wrapped and labeled with a brief description to intrigue you enough to read them. You can find more about this display and other books you might want to share with your family in Maggie's Blog.

Richards Memorial Library just created a free Burbio account that will list our events on a North Attleboro page. Our link is https://www.burbio.com/states/Massachusetts/North-Attleboro/richards-memorial-library. We invite other community groups to create their own pages for the 02760 zip code. Then it will be "one-stop shopping" to see what is happening in our area. There is a Burbio app for users to search for local events.

The results of the informal poll we did this summer indicated that people were interested in more craft programs. The Friends group would like to sponsor a charity craft group that could meet monthly to make items to give to a charity, such as fleece blankets or caps for babies. We'd like to know whether this would be popular. Please email mholmes@sailsinc.org if you would be interested. We are also planning to have a sewing machine maintenance class in the winter.
