Thriller. Psychiatrist Joel Ashman's mentor, anger management specialist Dr. Stanley Kolberg, has just been murdered, bludgeoned almost beyond recognition. As a profiler, Dr. Ashman has taken a professional as well as a personal interest in the case, but his investigation turns up information that shows his friend in a very dark--and unprofessional--light. As Dr. Ashman and his police counterparts dig ever deeper, subtle clues suggest that Ashman knows more than he's sharing, making a difficult case even tougher to solve.
