Free to Read @ Largo Public Library Free to Read @ Largo Public Library focuses on the free resources and access to information here at the library, as well as the programs and materials available to patrons.
Largo Public Library strives to provide a diverse and high-quality collection of materials and resources, with an ongoing focus on protecting intellectual freedom so that you, and anyone else, can have the freedom to read whatever you want to, when you want to, and at no cost. From now through the end of September, join us for various programs across all of our departments celebrating the books that you love and your right to read them!

Show off your right to read by picking up one of these Free to Read library cards, available only at Largo Public Library while supplies last!
These bold and bright new cards will be available beginning on April 1st and can be obtained when registering for a new card, renewing a current card, or replacing a missing one!

AARP TaxAide Income Tax Assistance Ends April 15 Assistance will be provided on a first come, first served basis Mondays, Wednesday, Fridays, and select Saturdays from 10:00am - 3:00pm. Sign up opens each scheduled day at 9:30am and individuals must sign in with an AARP volunteer. Unofficial sign-in sheets will not be honored. Spring Into Reading Adult Reading Challenge April 1 - April 30 Spring is known for many things—flowers blooming, spring cleaning, refreshing your look—and now, Largo Public Library’s Spring Into Reading Adult Reading Challenge. Reignite your passion for reading and help us beat 2023’s Spring Reading Challenge of 145 total books completed! Stop by the library to sign up for the challenge and pick up your review cards. Each review you complete gets you closer to the grand prize drawing of a spring-themed gift basket. Weekly prizes will also be awarded. The more you read, the more chances you have to win! Be one of the first 60 patrons to register for the challenge and complete your first review card to receive a Largo Public Library beach towel and small cooler lunchbox!

Free to Read: Read-In Mon | April 8 | 5:30PM Courtyard Stop by our Free to Read information station setup in the courtyard* for a free book and coffee before finding a cozy spot for this dedicated reading time. Shop vendor tables, learn more about the Free to Read initiative, and even sign up for a new library card!
*The program will be re-located inside if we experience inclement weather.

Shelf Indulgent Romance Book Club Wed | April 24 | 6:00pm Adult Programming Room Join us for a book club built for hopeless romantics and cynics alike as we explore different tropes, sub-genres, and themes. As we read across the spectrum of the romance genre, our choices will reflect various books that may contain steamy scenes, various sexualities, experiences, and cultures. Using Historical Literature to Explore Your Ancestors' Lives Tue | April 9 | 1:00pm | Local History Room & Zoom Historical literature, both fiction and non-fiction, can help us to better understand the world in which our ancestors lived and the events that shaped their lives. This presentation looks at how to use historical literature to flesh out the stories of our ancestors and provides examples to show what can be learned. This will be a hybrid class held in-person in the Local History Room and online via Zoom. Registration is only required for Zoom attendees.
