Park(ing) Day Dallas: Taking It To The Streets

The Crowd!
The Trophy!

The Team!

Selfies with Bonnie & Clyde, free books, library card registrations, charicatures - the Dallas Public Library's one-day outdoor annex was a huge hit at Park(ing) Day Dallas on September 16th. We even won the Fan Favorite award! See more pictures of our slice of the Streets of Dallas on our Facebook page!

The Bookworm Turns: Softball Team Now 1-1

The Dewey Decimators soundly defeated the Water Department 9-5 in the second game of City Softball league play. Gone were first-game jitters, and replacing them were extra base hits, great pitching, and timely defensive plays.
Alex Zuniga of Delivery Services pitched a complete five innings, striking out three players and shutting off the Water team on pop-ups or ground outs. Alex also clobbered a two-run homer for the Decimators.
Anabel Gonzalez of the Arcadia Park Branch played great defense as catcher, and nailed a foul ball that went above a batter's head for an out.
The team plays Thursday nights at Kiest Park in Oak Cliff. Come cheer us on as we leave our desks and hit the base paths!  (Additional reporting by Faridd Sierra)
