Skillman Southwestern Branch to Close Permanently September 27

As you may have heard, the approved City of Dallas budget did not include funding for the Skillman Southwestern Branch Library. That means this location must close at end of day on Saturday, September 27.

We know how much residents love this branch and use it faithfully. While it won't be the same, we hope you find a similar sense of community and belonging at one of our other library locations. The map below shows you the closest libraries to Skillman Southwestern.

As a Skillman customer, please note that:

• You must change your hold pickup location. You can do this by logging into your account or speaking to library staff at any DPL location. Requests already in route can be picked up at Skillman through September 27.

• All September events will be held as scheduled. Future events are canceled or may be moved to another location.

• We will have something special on the last day to honor the staff and share memories of the branch. Please plan to stop in after 1 p.m. on September 27.

The Skillman staff will be reassigned to other library locations. The books, furniture and computers will be salvaged and used in other library locations.
