Did you know that kids can vote, too? Maybe not by casting a ballot in the November 5 General Election, but they can go with their grownup! Find out how kids can vote any day - or every day - and other important things kids can do during election season. We'll enjoy stories, crafts, and a chance to vote.

Hogwarts Slime

(Ages 7-11)

Make a quick trip to Hogwarts and help Herbology Professor Garlick process a fresh batch of Bubotuber into a cup of slime to take home and enjoy.

Pumpkin Palooza

Did you know nearly 1.3 billion pounds of pumpkins are landfilled each year? Join us for games, activities, crafts and food trucks. Ask a Master Gardener about composting, growing gourds and harvesting tips. Bring your pumpkins, gourds, squash, and jack-o'-lanterns to Pumpkin Palooza, where they will be collected and then composted at the Alpha Ridge Landfill.

How the Yaocomaco Lived

(Ages 5-10)

Celebrate National Native American Heritage Month! Learn about how Maryland's native people lived before the colonists arrived. We will excavate like archaeologists to find 'artifacts' and use them to learn about the Yaocomaco tribe.

What is weaving? Why do people weave?  We will explore weaving using looms and non-traditional items to weave. Ages 5-7 must be accompanied by an adult.
